🚨 Bees in a tree, a trailer or the eaves? Keep back, and call for bee removal in Tolleson.

We inspect Tolleson homes and businesses at no charge.

At Busy Bee Pest Solutions, our family-owned company handles bees, wasps and rodents, and we run our own bee farm. Since 2023 we have made more than 35 bee service visits to Tolleson-area addresses (ZIP 85353), nearly all of them at homes.

Most colonies are treated on site, and live removal and relocation can be requested when the colony is one we can move.

Bee Removal Near You: Tolleson and ZIP 85353

Tolleson sits along Interstate 10 on the west side of the Phoenix metro. The city itself covers about 5.7 square miles and had 7,216 residents at the 2020 census, but ZIP 85353 reaches well past it: about 21.6 square miles and roughly 43,000 people. Our bee visits follow the ZIP, from about 81st Avenue west to 121st Avenue, and every one is run from our Phoenix office. For neighboring Avondale, see our Avondale bee removal page; our article on bees in Goodyear, Avondale and Buckeye covers more of the southwest Valley.

What turns up on Tolleson-area lots:

  • Yard trees: Colonies hanging in the open from front-yard trees, and others hidden in hollow trunks and limbs.
  • Sheds and storage containers: Under shed floors and under the shipping-style containers some lots keep for storage.
  • Things in the yard: A barrel, a storage tote, the underside of a trampoline.
  • Ground boxes: Front-yard irrigation and water meter boxes.
  • Trucks and trailers: A truck’s wheel well and the front of an RV trailer; the two we treated had little or no comb.

How a Tolleson Bee Job Works

Five steps, from the free inspection to closing the gap:

  1. Inspection at no charge: We find the colony and how the bees are getting in, whether that is a wall, a tree, a ground box or the underside of a container.
  2. A clear price: You hear the options and the price before we start. At a business we also go over what access we need.
  3. The colony: Most are treated on site. If you ask for live removal and the bees can be moved, they go to our bee farm or a partner’s.
  4. The honey: Comb we can reach is quoted on site and removed along with the honey. If reaching it means cutting into a tree, a wall or a roof, we explain what that involves before you decide.
  5. The opening: When the bees are gone, the entry needs closing. Either we close it or we point out exactly what to close.

Free Inspection, Our Own Bee Farm and Honey Removal in Tolleson

Exposed honeycomb hanging from a tree branch
🐝 An exposed colony on a branch, from our files. 🌳 The open-air colonies we treated in two Tolleson-area front-yard trees in 2025 had no honeycomb to remove.

A Tolleson business gets the same terms as a home:

Free inspection: On every job, at a house or a business.

Beekeepers: We run our own bee farm. Live relocation is available on request for colonies that can be moved; the rest are treated on site.

Honey out where it can be reached: In June 2026 our technician took an estimated 30 to 40 pounds of honey out of a front-yard irrigation box at a Tolleson-area home. Comb removal is priced on site, before anything is opened.

Licensed & Insured: Arizona structural pest control license 10332. Family owned.

Keep People Back From a Tolleson Colony

Treat any wild colony in Tolleson as Africanized: most in Arizona are, and they defend their nest hard. That matters most where a colony sits next to something people use every day, like a shed or container door, a truck by the garage or an RV gate.

Don’t spray it, knock it down or plug the hole; bees shut in look for another way out, sometimes into the building. If the bees are on a truck, trailer or piece of equipment, leave it parked rather than driving off with the colony aboard. Keep people back, and if anyone is being stung repeatedly, call 911 first.

Where Bees Nest in Tolleson: Yards First, Then House Walls

Tolleson’s story starts in 1910, when Walter G. and Alethea H. Tolleson bought a 160-acre ranch at 91st Avenue and Van Buren Street. They founded the town in 1912, and it incorporated in 1929. By the 1950s it was called the “Vegetable Center of the World.” The packing sheds faded in the early 1960s, and grocery distribution centers arrived in the 1980s. The bee work we do here, though, is mostly at homes.

More colonies in the yard than in the house

Of our Tolleson-area bee jobs since 2023 with a recorded hive location, more than half were in the yard or elsewhere on the lot rather than in the house. Shed floors, the undersides of storage containers, trees, ground boxes and things left in the yard all show up. One colony was inside a backyard brick wall, going in where the wall’s drainage scupper meets it. Another filled the space between two walls of an outbuilding at the back of a lot, where our technician estimated more than 60 pounds of honey.

Trees with more than one colony

One Tolleson-area tree we treated in 2026 held three colonies at once, each in its own cavity in the trunk or a thick branch. On another 2026 job, a second colony turned up in a branch 15 to 20 feet from the first. A broken limb or hollow trunk gives bees a ready cavity, so if you see bees at more than one spot on a tree, point each one out at the free inspection.

Gaps in the house

When bees have gotten into the house itself, they used gaps like these: the hole where AC lines go into the stucco, a crack in the front steps, holes in a metal strip under a window and a stucco pop-out. The colony at the AC line had been there at least four or five months, by our technician’s estimate. In a second-story eave and roof, the technician estimated more than 75 pounds of honey.

Old honey keeps drawing bees

In October 2024 we were called to a Tolleson home where bees were working an old hive inside a bathroom wall under the shower. The honey was still there, and robber bees were coming for it. The technician treated the openings and recommended taking the honey out, since that is what drew them.

Businesses too

A small share of our Tolleson-area visits have been at commercial sites, including a colony high up in a commercial building’s roof. On a site like that, the free inspection is also where we work out access.

Tolleson Bee Removal FAQs

There are bees in a tree in my Tolleson yard. Could there be more than one hive?
It happens. In 2026 we treated a Tolleson-area tree with three separate colonies, and on another job that year a second colony was in a branch 15 to 20 feet from the first. If you see bees at more than one spot on the same tree, show each one to the technician at the free inspection.

Can you treat bees in a storage container, trailer or truck?
Yes. Around Tolleson we have treated colonies under storage containers, in a truck’s wheel well and in the front of an RV trailer. The two on vehicles had little or no comb. Leave the vehicle parked and keep people away until the inspection.

The bees are gone, but the old honey is still in the wall. Does it need to come out?
Old honey left in a wall can draw bees back. In 2024 we found bees at old honey in two Tolleson-area homes: robber bees at an old hive in a bathroom wall, and a colony in a stucco wall beside an RV gate, with very old honey at the opening from a previous homeowner. The inspection is free, and removing comb we can reach is priced on site before anything is opened.

How much does bee removal cost in Tolleson?
The price depends on where the colony is, how hard it is to reach and whether comb has to come out. A colony hanging in the open on a branch is usually a smaller job than one inside a wall or roof. The inspection costs nothing, you get the options and a price before we start, and honey removal is quoted separately once we can see it.

Will you relocate the bees instead of killing them?
If you ask and the colony can be moved, yes. We are beekeepers with our own bee farm, and moved colonies go there or to a partner’s bee farm. Colonies too defensive to move are treated on site instead.

When is bee season in Tolleson?
March through June brings a little over half of our Tolleson-area bee visits, and June has been the busiest month, slightly ahead of March, April and October. Fall and winter still bring calls: we made four Tolleson-area bee visits in October 2025 and three that December.

Do you handle bees at businesses in Tolleson?
Yes. Most of our Tolleson-area visits are at homes, but businesses get the same free inspection, and we plan access with you before any work starts, including for colonies high up on a building.
