Rodent Control in Avondale, AZ, and Tolleson
Rodent control in Avondale usually starts overhead: most of our Avondale rodent calls have been rats in an attic or ceiling space, and the openings we sealed on Avondale houses were nearly all up on the roof or along the eaves. We also cover neighboring Tolleson, homes and businesses alike.
Serving Avondale north and south of Interstate 10, Old Town along Western Avenue, and neighboring Tolleson: homes, rentals and businesses.
Quick facts: rodent control in Avondale and Tolleson
- Local pattern: rats in attics and ceiling spaces, sometimes with mice in the same house, and mice at floor level at a Tolleson business. The openings we found on Avondale houses were roof vents, gaps at the eaves and bird blocks, and a hole in a stem wall; at one house a garage added on later was the likely way in.
- First visit: a Rodent Specialist completes a free 61-point structural entry audit of the attic, roofline, garage and exterior and notes every opening before quoting.
- Methods: snap traps indoors, locked tamper-resistant stations outside, no poison inside the home.
- Packages: Control is $245 for the initial service and $95 per follow-up. Solve (full exclusion with a 2-year warranty) and Restore (Solve plus attic remediation) are quoted after the inspection. The $29 first visit is a promo for new customers who start a 1-year pest control plan.
- Timeline: trapping jobs in our Avondale and Tolleson records ran three to six visits, nearly always a week or less apart.
- Service area: Avondale (ZIPs 85323 and 85392, plus 85329 in Cashion) and Tolleson (ZIP 85353), covered from our Phoenix office. Our technicians have jobs in Avondale, Tolleson or a neighboring city every week, counting all of our services, not only rodent work. Rodent inspections are booked by appointment.
- Nearest office: Busy Bee Pest Solutions, 14819 N Cave Creek Rd Ste 2, Phoenix, AZ 85032, with a second office in Mesa for the East Valley. Arizona structural pest control license #10332.
Rodent Calls in Avondale and Tolleson: Homes and Businesses
Since 2023 we have made more than 20 rodent service visits in Avondale and Tolleson, for five Avondale properties and one Tolleson business. The work falls into three groups:
Rats overhead. Four of the five Avondale properties had rats in the attic or ceiling space: two houses, a rented studio and a commercial kitchen. Droppings and runways were the usual find, and at one of the houses the rats had left chew marks in the attic as well.
Rats and mice in the same building. Two Avondale properties had both. At one home the rats and mice were getting into the walls and the attic as well as the living space, and the trapping ran five visits.
Businesses. Roof rats above an Avondale commercial kitchen in 2025, and mice in the office, break room and storage area of a Tolleson business in 2026. A business gets the same free inspection, and the written plan is built around the building.
Every Avondale trapping job in our records started between late October and early March, the earliest on October 28 and the latest on March 7. None of our Avondale rodent jobs so far has involved pack rats; if you do find a stick nest, see pack rat removal.

Avondale and Tolleson Buildings, and Where Rodents Get In
Avondale borders Goodyear to the west, Litchfield Park to the north, and Phoenix and Tolleson to the east. Interstate 10 crosses its northern part. Tolleson is much smaller, with 7,216 residents in 2020, and the interstate, the Union Pacific line and Buckeye Road all cross it. Our Avondale rodent jobs have been in houses, a rented studio and a commercial kitchen.
Houses with roof vents and bird blocks. One Avondale house needed 22 openings closed: 10 at the eaves and 12 roof vents, and every vent was left able to breathe. Holes in the bird blocks under the eaves and a hole low in a stem wall have needed sealing too.
Additions and second stories. At one Avondale house a garage added on after the house was built was the likely way in, and at another a gap at a second-story eave turned up on a follow-up visit and was sealed, so the inspection looks closely at both.
A Tolleson business. On our 2026 job there, the mice stayed at floor level in the office, break room and storage area, with nothing in the false ceilings, and the bay doors were the openings to watch.
What rodents do we find in Avondale homes?
Mostly rats overhead, sometimes with mice in the same house. Of the four Avondale homes in our records, counting the rented studio, three had rats in the attic and two of those also had mice; the fourth was a sealing-only job. Rats and mice are both handled with trapping, plus sealing where the owner chooses it, after a free inspection.

How an Avondale Rodent Job Runs, Step by Step
What happens on an Avondale or Tolleson job:
Free inspection: attic and ceiling spaces, roof vents, eaves, the stem wall and the garage, and for a business the drop ceilings, storage rooms and doors. Each opening found is written into the quote.
Snap traps where rodents travel: attic runways, garages, kitchens and storage areas. Inside a home, no poison is used.
Locked stations outside: tamper-resistant, and placed where the activity is, such as along walls or near the trash area.
Weekly follow-ups: traps cleared and re-baited, with more added where new activity turns up. At one Avondale house three more went in after the rats got into the dog food.
Sealing (Solve and Restore): entry points closed with chew-resistant metal mesh, screens and flashing, finished with heat-rated sealant. Vents stay screened, so the attic still breathes.
Food and storage advice: pet food and trash in closed containers, and food left out put away overnight.
Cleanup if needed (Restore): HEPA removal of droppings and nesting, disinfectant fogging after HEPA cleanup; see attic cleanup.

Recent rodent work in Avondale and Tolleson
Mice in an office · Tolleson · August 2026. A business called about rodent activity in its office, break room and storage area, and our technician identified mice. There were droppings and footprints at floor level and nothing in the false ceilings, and 10 traps went in. One mouse was caught at the first follow-up three days later. Six days after that the traps were untouched, so they came out, and we suggested bait stations outside by the bay doors as the longer-term step.
Roof rats above the kitchen · Avondale · March–May 2025. Roof rats were living in the drop ceiling over a commercial kitchen, with only light signs in the kitchen itself. On the first visit the technician set 11 traps and sealed 15 openings around the building. Follow-ups caught one rat, then two, then none. By April 8 there was no new activity in the kitchen, so the traps came out, and follow-up visits on the building carried on into May.
Ten openings, then one more · Avondale · December 2023–January 2024. The homeowner had fought roof rats on and off for a couple of years before calling. After two weeks of trapping in the attic, 10 openings were sealed: a T vent and five plumbing vents on the roof, three holes in the bird blocks and one in the stem wall. On the next visit one more rat was caught, and a new gap at a second-story eave was found and sealed.

Avondale and Tolleson Rodent Control FAQ
How much does rodent control cost in Avondale?
Rodent control in Avondale is the same price as Phoenix. Control is $245 for the initial service and $95 per follow-up. Solve (trapping plus full exclusion with a 2-year warranty) and Restore (Solve plus attic remediation) are quoted after a free 61-point inspection. The $29 initial service is a promo for new customers who start a 12-month pest control plan.
Do you handle rodents in Avondale and Tolleson businesses?
Yes. Our records include roof rats in the drop ceiling above an Avondale commercial kitchen and mice in the office, break room and storage area of a Tolleson business. The inspection is free, and the written quote covers trapping, sealing and any stations the building needs.
Is Tolleson covered at the same price as Avondale?
For homes, yes. Tolleson homes get the same Control price, the same Solve and Restore packages and the same free inspection as Avondale and the rest of the Phoenix metro. Business jobs are quoted in writing after the inspection, because the plan depends on the building.
Our tenant hears something in the attic. What should we do as the landlord?
Book an inspection and tell the tenant when we are coming, so they can show us where the noise is. A rented studio in Avondale started exactly that way in 2023: the tenant heard noises overhead, we found droppings and runways in the attic, removed three rats over the next two weeks and sealed the opening. Our rental rodent guide covers Arizona landlord and tenant duties.
We trapped rats before and they came back. Why?
Usually because the openings were never closed. Trapping takes out the rats that are inside; sealing the gaps is what keeps new ones from moving in. The free inspection lists every opening we find, so the written quote can cover sealing as well as trapping.
Can rats and mice show up in the same Avondale house?
Yes, at two of the Avondale homes in our records. Rat droppings are about half an inch long with pointed ends, and mouse droppings are much smaller. The traps and where they go differ for each, so the inspection sorts out which you have before any are set.
For roof rats, mice, attic cleanup and the rest, see the full rodent control FAQ.
