Signs You Need Wasp Removal in Goodyear and Nearby Towns

Busy Bee finds, treats and removes paper wasp and mud dauber nests at homes in Goodyear, Avondale, Buckeye, Litchfield Park and Tolleson, starting with a free inspection. Most of our wasp visits in these five towns since 2023 fell between May and August.

Call when you see any of these:

  • Wasps working the front-yard shrubs or the yellow-flowering bushes out back
  • A comb on a pergola ceiling, a ceiling fan or a corner of the patio roofline
  • Activity at the roof tiles over the back patio
  • A nest inside a porch light or a grill
  • Wasps at the pool that fly off over the wall
  • Mud dauber tubes on a window frame or a door

Don't spray into a light fixture or a grill. Switch the light off and leave the lid closed. The technician treats the fixture along with the nest.

Open Paper Wasp Comb

Paper wasps build an open, umbrella-shaped comb with no outer shell. Around Goodyear we find them in front-yard shrubs and yellow-flowering bushes as well as under patio roofs.

Paper Wasps Tending Their Comb

Paper wasps defend the comb when it is bumped and can sting more than once. Keep people and pets back from a nest in a front-yard shrub.

Mud Daubers: Tubes, Not Combs

On one Goodyear job in 85338 we removed three mud dauber nests from the window framing and the sliding back door, then treated the corners of the door and both windows. Mud daubers are usually less defensive than paper wasps.

How a Wasp Visit Works in Goodyear and Nearby Towns

Many of our nests in these towns have been in front-yard shrubs, so the inspection covers the front of the house as well as the back.

Wasps Inside a Pipe Opening
On a Litchfield Park roof our technician found a nest inside one T-vent, treated it and checked the other vents, which had none. In Avondale, a nest came out of a crawl space.

Our Crews Are in the Goodyear Area Every Week

Wasp visits in Goodyear, Avondale, Buckeye, Litchfield Park and Tolleson are booked through our office on Cave Creek Road in Phoenix (14819 N Cave Creek Rd Ste 2, 85032).

Since 2023 we have logged more than 1,000 bee, wasp and rodent visits in these five towns, and so far in 2026 there has not been a week without one. The same crews take bee and rodent calls here too: see our Goodyear bee removal and Goodyear rodent control pages, plus Litchfield Park and Tolleson bee removal and Avondale and Litchfield Park rodent control.

That covers Goodyear's 85338 and Palm Valley (85395), Litchfield Park, Avondale, Tolleson, and Buckeye from Sundance (85326) to Verrado.

Why Goodyear-Area Homeowners Call Busy Bee

  • Front yard and backyard. We check the front-yard shrubs as carefully as the pool and the patio.
  • Roof tile included. Nests under roof tile have turned up at Litchfield Park and Avondale addresses, so the roofline gets the same look as the yard.
  • Honey bee or wasp, we handle both. In March 2026 a Goodyear caller saw activity at the front porch; the technician found honey bee scouts, not wasps, and no hive yet, and treated the porch area to deter them.
  • No surprise add-ons. Extra nests, and any shrub or pool-edge treatment you choose to add, are agreed with you before work starts.
  • 1,800+ five-star Google reviews from customers around the Valley; the inspection is always free.

Where Wasps Nest in Goodyear, Litchfield Park, Buckeye, Avondale and Tolleson

Most homes in the ZIP codes we cover here were built in 2000 or later, per Census figures; the exceptions are Avondale's 85392 and the older streets of Tolleson itself. On those newer lots our invoices keep naming the same places: shrubs, patio ceilings and rooflines.

Goodyear: yellow-flowering shrubs and second-story rooflines

In 85338 and Palm Valley's 85395, three-quarters or more of homes were built in 2000 or later. On one June 2026 visit in 85338 our technician took three nests out of a single yellow-flowering bush in the backyard, then eight more from the front and back rooflines, a second yellow-flowering bush and a front-yard shrub. Another 85338 home that month had eight. Nests can turn up before spring: in late February 2026 a home in 85395 already had four.

Litchfield Park: roof tile, light fixtures and vines

Fourteen of our wasp visits since 2023 were at Litchfield Park mailing addresses, in a ZIP code (85340) that reaches well beyond the small city itself. At those addresses nests have turned up under roof tiles, behind the bulb of a light fixture and in backyard wall vines, and one May 2026 visit took 13 nests out of a yard's pines, bushes and roofline.

Buckeye: new yards and front-yard shrubs

In Buckeye's 85396, which takes in part of Verrado, about two-thirds of homes were built in 2010 or later. One May 2026 visit there took 19 nests off a pergola ceiling, a ceiling fan and the shrubs out front. In Buckeye's 85326 ZIP code, which includes Sundance, a single visit later that month took down 16 paper wasp nests.

Avondale and Tolleson: pots, pools and patio tile

Avondale and Tolleson make up a smaller part of our wasp work, ten visits between them since 2023, and the nests turn up all over the yard: in a crawl space, an artificial plant pot, a small bush beside the pool and the roof tile over a back patio.

Here the front yard matters as much as the back. Check the front-yard shrubs and the street side of the house as well as the patio. For what a new nest looks like in spring, read the early signs of a wasp nest; to tell a wasp from a bee, our bee and wasp species guide shows the differences.

Goodyear-Area Wasp Questions

When does wasp season start in Goodyear, Buckeye and Litchfield Park?
Most of our wasp visits in these towns fall between May and August, and in 2026 May and June were the busiest months. Nests can turn up as early as February. Each nest starts with a single queen in spring, so one found early is still small.
Why are there wasp nests in my front-yard shrubs?
Shrubs give a paper wasp comb shade and cover close to the house, and bushes come up on many of our invoices for these towns. In August 2023 one Litchfield Park yard had 14 nests in the bushes around the front. That is why we check every bush, not just the one where you saw wasps.
Wasps keep coming to my pool, but there's no nest in my yard. Why?
They are most likely coming for water. On a June 2026 follow-up at one Buckeye home, our technician found no new nests on the property and watched wasps fly in from neighboring yards to drink. We can treat the pool edge and the shrubs on your side of the wall with a residual product, and we will tell you if the wasps are coming from next door.
Do you treat the shrubs that don't have a nest?
Every nest site gets a residual treatment, and the rest of the shrubs, the patio edges or the pool edge can be added; you get the price before work starts. On one May 2026 Buckeye visit the technician took five nests out of three front-yard bushes and a patio roofline corner, then treated the twelve small bushes along the front, the edges of all three patios and the pool perimeter, with the goal of keeping wasps from nesting there.
Do you handle wasps in Avondale and Tolleson too?
Yes. Our wasp visits there have run from February, when a Tolleson home had a mud dauber nest in 2025, to late November, when we removed a wasp nest in Avondale's 85392. On one June 2026 Avondale visit the technician took five nests out of a small bush by the pool, then treated the pool edge, a play structure's ceiling and the inside of a shed ceiling.
Is it wasps or honey bees?
A paper comb with open cells or a cluster of mud tubes, with no honey, is a wasp nest. Honey bees build wax comb, usually hidden in a wall, a roof, a valve box or a pile of rocks, and come and go through a single opening. The free inspection sorts it out, and honey bees are handled differently: most colonies are treated on site, with live relocation available on request where a colony can be moved.
Will the wasps come back next year?
Not the same colony; a paper wasp colony lasts a single season. New queens may pick the same kind of sheltered spot the next spring, though, so a check of the same shrubs and rooflines in March or April finds new nests while they are still small.
How is the price set?
Nothing is charged for the inspection. Once the technician has checked the front yard, the backyard and the roofline, you get a price for the nests found, and any more that turn up are added only with your OK.
